About this place
Quetta's turquoise half hour escape.
A short drive from Quetta city, Hanna Lake is a reservoir ringed by bare ochre hills that turn a deep rust-orange at sunset. Paddle boats, a lakeside restaurant and picnic spots make it a popular weekend escape for locals, and the surrounding Hanna-Urak valley is one of the greenest corners of an otherwise arid province, with fruit orchards climbing the slopes above the water.
