About this place
The tent mosque under the hills.
Completed in 1986, the Faisal Mosque's tent-shaped design and absence of a traditional dome made it one of the most architecturally daring mosques built anywhere in the 20th century, and it remains one of the largest in South Asia. Set directly against the forested Margalla Hills, trailheads behind the mosque lead up into Margalla Hills National Park, giving Islamabad one of the few capital cities in the world with genuine hiking on its doorstep.
